GBCkids Sunday Volunteer Job Descriptions
Teacher (Preschool - Grade 5)Reports To: GBCkids Coordinator
Location: Kids Wing, Family Life Center
Time Commitment: Sundays 7:45-9:15am, 9:15-10:45am, or 10:45am-12:15pm
Role Summary: Our Sunday School volunteers create a loving, safe environment where children can begin to develop an understanding of Scripture. The Teacher will be responsible for sharing a weekly lesson from The Gospel Project curriculum with their class. This volunteer will be the lead in the classroom and oversee the entire class time.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Arrive 15 minutes before start of service (7:45am, 9:15am, or 10:45am) for child drop-off.
Implement GBCkids security procedures.
Prepare and facilitate the provided lesson with their class, including Bible lesson, games, activities, and/or crafts.
Answer theological questions children have.
Access provided lessons via Ministry Grid, our online curriculum platform.
Build relationships with children and their families.
Provide supervision and structure for a safe environment.
Develop classroom management skills via online and in-person training.
Communicate any needs or concerns with GBCkids staff.
Requirements: Teachers must be Covenant Partners and agree to uphold GBC’s Statement of Faith. Volunteers must undergo all aspects of our onboarding requirements.
Classroom Helper (Preschool - Grade 5)Reports To: GBCkids Coordinator
Location: Kids Wing, Family Life Center
Time Commitment: Sundays 7:45-9:15am, 9:15-10:45am, or 10:45am-12:15pm

Nursery Volunteer (Infants - Age 2)Reports To: Early Childcare Coordinator
Location: Nursery Wing, Worship Center
Time Commitment: Sundays 7:45-9:15am, 9:15-10:45am, or 10:45am-12:15pm
Role Summary: Nursery volunteers will provide care for the youngest members of our GBC family. Our goal is to provide a loving, safe environment that reflects Jesus’ light through care and play.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Nursery volunteers must be able to comfortably pick up and hold infants / young toddlers.
Provide care, including feeding babies and toddlers (bottles and snacks), changing diapers or assisting in the restroom, and rocking/comforting.
Play and have fun with the children.
Build relationships with children and their families.
Share the weekly Bible story from the provided lesson (2 year old room only).
Prepare and oversee craft (2 year old room only, optional).
