I accepted Jesus into my life at 8 years old. I was raised in the church and grew to know who God was and is through His word and the people who lived by it. Through His grace and wisdom, living for the Lord and putting Him at the center of my decisions has led me to such an incredibly purposeful, blessed life. I have been able to serve Him through missions, my career in medicine, and now in my marriage being part of the military. Although I grew up in a Christian home, there were still areas of brokenness. I had a distorted view of what love was, as it was often only received based on my performance. This is why Ephesians 2:8 is an important verse to me. It reminds me that only through grace we have been saved, and no amount of works or good deeds can be done to earn God’s love and gift of salvation. This is only one example of the many other testimonies, struggles, and instances God has saved me throughout the years. Each day I discover parts of myself I need to give to Him, to continue to allow Him to mold me to become more and more like Jesus. I am thankful and excited for opportunity to be baptized (finally!) to mark a new chapter in my walk with Christ.
