Gary Campbell Jr. serves as Lead Pastor at Groton Bible Chapel. A lifelong GBCer, Gary grew up in Ledyard and has been a part of the Groton Bible Chapel family his entire life. Before stepping into the Lead Pastor role in January 2017, he served for a decade as GBC’s Youth Pastor — and in 2025 celebrated twenty years on GBC staff.

Gary’s passion is to see people grow deep in their relationship with Christ, pursuing genuine discipleship that holds up under the weight of real life. He loves teaching the Bible, leadership development, marriage restoration, and is as comfortable encouraging someone one-on-one over coffee as he is behind the pulpit on a Sunday morning.

Gary and his wife Kristi have been married for nearly twenty-five years and have four children — Gary III, William, Nathan, and Ella — and are the proud grandparents of Eloise Marie. Outside of ministry, Gary is an avid outdoorsman and lifelong baseball fan who enjoys time with family and the rhythm of the four seasons in southern New England.
