I grew up Catholic, but was never raised in church or shown to have a relationship with Jesus. I grew without a father and always felt like I was missing something. Two years ago, my wife and I were invited to GBC through our friends, and I still remember our first service. Zak mentioned parenting and said “Don’t preach perfection, preach redemption”, that stuck with me because I’ve not always been the best version of myself and worried about how I would raise my boys. Going to GBC and attending Bible study I’ve realized my true father has been there all along, Jesus, He’s taught me to forgive my father and has shown me it’s ok to make mistakes and how to learn from them.

Psalm 23:4 — “Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff — they comfort me.”

I’ve had a lot of hardship in my life and knowing Jesus is with me and my family through it all helps me realize it was all for a reason.
