Looking to connect and plug into a group or bible study? Sign up today in the fellowship hall for our Fall semester (September 8th - December 13th).
As many of our students begin a new year at school, we want to ask our church family to be in prayer for them. Pray for them as they begin their new classes, possibly in a new building or with new classmates. Pray for them as they begin activities and sports. Pray for them as they encounter hardships, stress, temptations and heartache. Pray for their light to shine, that they might reflect Christ to their needy world.
We are quickly approaching the end of our summer Sunday school session, which means that we will be starting the Bible over again in September! It has been three years since we began The Gospel Project for Kids and we can’t wait to see where God leads our children through this second cycle. If you are interested in helping we are still looking for: 10am - 3 year old teacher 10am - Preschool floaters 10am - 2 Elementary teachers 11:30am - 2-4 year old teacher & helper 11:30am - Elementary teacher & helper Please contact Meghan Hartley at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Our 2019-2020 year officially begins on Wednesday, September 11th! Doors will open at 5:45pm and we will run from 6-8pm.
Please join us in praying over the people and the process involved with the delivery and installation of the preschool playground equipment and fenced-in play area this coming week.
The next team trip to Haiti is planned for November 16-23. Contact Andy Bonner (email@example.com), Sue Baker, or Ted Janacek if you are interested in joining us. An informational meeting will be held next Sunday, September 1st at 11am. We’ll meet in the fellowship hall by the missions bulletin board.
Each week we print a series of seven devotional meditations in the bulletin, which have included a passage to read and some questions for reflection and application. Beginning on September 1st you will note a change in the format and timing of these offerings. First, the devotions will FOLLOW and not precede the sermon to which they’re connected. Second, there will only be one or perhaps two devotionals in the traditional style. However, following the brief devotional will be six to eight questions for reflection and application related to the sermon the previous Sunday.
We’ve made this change to support the start of a few sermon-based small groups in the fall. These will be groups that will use the Sunday sermon and this new material as their curriculum. The one or two devos can be used individually, and the questions are for your group to work through together when you meet. We are excited about this change and we believe that it will give greater retention and deeper application of the material preached week by week.
If you’ve traditionally used our devotions we’d suggest the Our Daily Bread booklets or online app, as well as the daily devos and scriptures made available by YouVersion and Bible Gateway as appropriate replacements.
Stephen Ministry training will begin on September 19th. If you believe God is calling you to come alongside of hurting folks in a Christ-centered, effective way, then please speak with a Stephen Leader or with Jason Wallace. The need for trained Care-Givers is great!
August 29th The Generations Annual Picnic at Harkness Park in Waterford will be on Thursday, August 29th from 12-3pm.
