We have three great reasons to praise God and His work with oursummer teen vision teams.
1. Middle School - Jeremy Vorce led 15 middle school students and 5 leaders in a Groton area missions outreach. On four Wednesdays, the teams carried out projects including playing games with clients at Fairview Rehab Center, helping prepare a yard sale for a missionary family, cleaning up a town park, and conducting a prayer walk around the chapel prior to the beginning of VBS. Of particular note were several “non-active” students who got involved in the projects.
2. WorkcampNE - 18 high school students and 4 leaders spent their week in service to the elderly and disabled in the Litchfield, NH area. They painted porches, replaced roofs, repaired decks, and completed a host of other upkeep projects. The project’s clients were extremely appreciative of the work done at their houses which resulted in many spiritual conversations with them. Our teens grew through their personal devotions, as well as the dynamic, challenging evening meetings where they were challenged to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
3. Navajo Nations - The Navajo team of 10 teens and 2 leaders traveled to the Navajo Nation in Houck, AZ. Working though the ministry of LeaderTreks, a Chicago-area outreach ministry, the team helped with some light construction work at the Good News Church. They also created and carried out a VBS program in another nearby church. One unique feature of this team was a strong emphasis on developing individual leadership skills. Our students describe the experience as a great time of deepening their faith walk.
