Summer and Seeing the Larger World

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” [Psalms 8:1,2]

“Summer vacation” comes with cheers from our children; it also comes with reminders of the greatness of God, and ways in which we reflect His glory to our world. Some suggestions for summer praying:

- Praise God for the miracle of life seen in each child around the world. Encourage your children to see the miracle of Jesus’ birth in spite of all Satan’s attempts to kill him. - Begin/end each day talking to God with your children; See the world through their praises. - Choose a country from news headlines; Pray with your children for the children in that country to know Jesus. - Thank God daily for your own children, neighborhood children, children randomly met at the beach, playground, summer sports, vacation trips. - Ask God to give us eyes to see with the eyes of little children, taking delight in what He has made and praise back to Him. - Continue to pray for vision teams, summer Sunday School, and VBS.

Praise God that it is His church and nothing will prevail against it.

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” [Luke 18:16,7]
