“Rebuilding Walls” is the theme for GBC’s team to Haiti. Pray for Andy and Sherylann Bonner, Ken and Linda Fast, Rick Conrad, Dave Hummeston, Gregg and Jane Steenbergen, Sue Baker, John Deer, Kimiko Bessire, John Pearson, Kevin Kellner, and Ted Janacek this week as they work alongside Jephthe and Mitou Lucien. One of the team’s principle duties will be the teaching of leadership principles which will be taught in small group Bible studies from Nehemiah 1-5. They will also teach inductive Bible study principles through the parables in Mark’s gospel. Evenings sessions will feature Haitian pastoral leaders. There will also be health presentations by our team (the medical clinic will be co-led and co-staffed by Haitian medical professionals and our team), and trips to celebrate the planting of a new church where we dug a well. In addition, there will be an exploration trip to pray over the possibility of the building of a new church in the mountains. The last day will see an extended visit to the orphanage in Port-au-Prince.
Join the team in praying through Nehemiah - Praising the “God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands,”asking God for success in rebuilding walls, in protecting His people, in recognizing that it is God who fights for us, in caring for those in great need with no resources of their own, for strength in facing opposition and working hard, for the reading of the Word of God and recognition of and confession of sin, and for celebration. “The joy of the Lord is your strength”. [Nehemiah 8:10]
