Mission News

Jepthe and Mitou Lucien offer sincere thanks for all the support they received during their visit to GBC. They were thrilled that their boys were able to travel with him. In addition to speaking on Sunday and visiting several gatherings, the Luciens traveled to NYC, including a trip to the top of the Empire State Building and a supper in Chinatown. As preparation details abound, please continue to be in prayer for our Haiti Vision Team in March and the outreach to the village of Wangouman. Moving farther south, we received an update from the Hawthornes in Potosi, Bolivia. Dr. Steve runs a medical clinic in Potosi and Mary is the regional ministry coordinator for SIM, a global outreach in South America, Asia, and Africa.

Highlights and prayer requests include: --An encouraging recent visit to the village where they ran a medical clinic and raised their children. --Emotional energy as they continue to reach out to SIM staff, old friends, and new neighbors. --God’s direction as they face rising rental costs at their clinic, giving them new urgency as they search for a permanent property. --Their son Dan and his wife Heather as they prepare to do a medical rotation in Potosi before his graduation from medical school in May. --Mary preparing to present on the topic of orality at an upcoming conference. --Wisdom as they consider offering training to volunteers in hospice care. Potosi has no nursing homes. --For a couple from north India, a teacher and doctor, who are considering joining the Hawthorne’s ministry team.
