Haiti Update

The church at Wangouman has walls and soon will have a completed roof! The GBC team that went down in June was able to finish constructing and installing all the roof trusses. After the team left, Ephraim Lucien spent four days driving through very deep mud delivering the rest of the roofing material. Now, we’d like to finish the multi-use church by adding a cement floor, windows, doors, wooden benches, and paint. To date, the 40ft x 80ft building has cost a little over $30,000. Another $10,000 is needed to finish the project.

In November, GBC and the November Haiti Vision Team will be sponsoring the annual JBM Conference for the fourth time. The leaders of the 120 JBM churches gather to gain Biblical knowledge and have a great time of fellowship. In addition, we will have a medical clinic for everyone. There will be break out sessions for the women and basic health training. This year our plan is to bring at least two water filters for every JBM church and school—and train leaders in their use and maintenance. The conference costs $4,500 for food, lodging, and transportation for over 300 participants.

Finally, as a church, we can support Jephthe Lucien’s bid for the presidency of Haiti by showing the benefits of effective partnership as seen in the ways we work together with JBM.

Please consider helping with the financial needs of these projects through a donation to either “Haiti” or the “Missions Special Projects.” Please be in prayer for the upcoming vision team in November. Please be in prayer for God’s leading as Jephthe stands for the Lord in the upcoming national election.
