From Haiti to Being "Home" in Two Worlds

We invite you to continue to pray for our team in Haiti, as they share God’s Word, encourage medical development, work toward clean water protocols, and coordinate various construction projects. Pray also that our team’s presence will encourage prayer for Haiti amid its political corruption and environmental difficulties. It’s an easy transition as we pray for Haiti’s politics, to pray also for our own political culture. We can get caught up in a variety of emotional responses or, we can ask God... • to help us steward our vote in a way that is most loving to our neighbors in this country and around the world. • to discipline ourselves to seek unbiased information and examine issues with an open mind. • to avoid the ugly conversations by being charitable, respectful and loving to others. • to accept the principle that reasonable people can disagree. • to remember our hope is in Jesus and not in American politics. - “Put no your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whose there is no salvation…Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob.” “Keep the main thing, the main thing.” [Ps. 146:3,5] • to remember that our true citizenship is in heaven. We are members of a global, transitional family - the body of Christ… This is our primary identity. [Philippians 3:20] • to “Keep on keeping on”…i.e. persevere and in so doing live out the fruits of the Spirit who lives within us - “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.” For more on the above cf. the following link … https://www.mnnonline.org/news/get-2016-election-advice-here/Frin
