The Brutality of the Cross
Read - Isa. 52:14, Mt. 27:27-31, 45-50
This short bit in Isaiah portrays a gruesome truth about crucifixion, a torturous death penalty which wouldn’t be invented for hundreds of years. The physical toll included lashings so severe that He was un- recognizable. How do you think about the brutality of the cross? Is it something we often take for granted? Why?
