20/20 Update - June 29th, 2014

Next year, 2015, as GBC staff transitions occur, the Sunday morning teaching schedule will change a bit. Gary Campbell and Frank Vitale will both be increasing their preaching/teaching times as part of their new roles. Bob McCoy will be teaching more adult Sunday School in 2015 as well as doing some preaching on Sunday mornings. Gary and Frank will essentially be doubling their Sunday teaching; Gary will also be assuming some administrative duties at GBC as he transitions out of Youth Ministry. As Frank will be teaching more, he will transition out of both Music Ministry and some of the administration at GBC. Please continue to pray for these upcoming changes, for God’s continued leading and blessing for GBC, and for GBC to continue to “Reflect the Lord Jesus Christ to a needy world.”

20/20 Update - June 22nd, 2014

Several GBC staff transitions will be occurring in 2015. One of those will be in the area of Connections. Since its inception, the Connections Pastor position has been held by Andy Bonner andhis three areas of focus were small groups, 20’s, and missions. Due to the Lord’s blessing, leading and Andy’s labor, all three of those areas have grown substantially and it is time to assign some of those ministries to a new staff member.

The new Connections Pastor (job description posted on the GBC website) would be primarily tasked with small groups and 20’s; Andy would continue on a part-time basis with the sole focus of missions. The target time for this transition would be spring/summer of 2015.

Please continue to pray for God’s will, wisdom and blessing for GBC!

20/20 Update - June 16th, 2014

Last October, a team from GBC went to the Worship Facilities Conference & Expo (WFX) in Dallas, TX, to explore options for GBC to evaluate current ministry offerings and facilities. Nearly 1000 were in attendance! Our team went to many seminars and training sessions as well as meeting with several of the hundreds of consultants and presenters who were available. Over the past months, the GBC Elders and members of our team have researched, interviewed, and studied the materials of several church assessment firms. Goff Companies (goffcompanies.com) from Dallas, TX, has been selected to do the strategic assessment of GBC and this process will begin in August. Please pray that this pivotal study will be helpful as GBC seeks to “reflect the Lord Jesus Christ to a needy world.”
