Getting involved means becoming a part of the GBC family! Many Christ-centered activities are available for you to connect, learn, and serve at GBC. Our goal is to see you mature in your relationship with Jesus. We also believe that every member is a minister and want to help you use your gifts here! A full menu of choices for all ages is offered.
GBC’s Ministry Opportunities
ANGEL TREE: Each Christmas, this program ministers to families of prisoners.
AWANA: Each Wednesday night, elementary & middle school children participate in games, scripture memory, crafts, and are exposed to local and foreign missions. Grades PreK - 5.
AUDIO TECHNICIANS: This team sets up and monitors the sound for spoken word and music activities.
BOOK LIBRARY: Librarians organize and staff the GBC library which contains Biblical study materials as well as Christian literature.
BUILDING STEWARDS: These are the people who direct the care of the building and grounds.
CLEANING: Those involved in this ministry clean the building on a rotating schedule so that it is ready for each use.
CLOSER/OPENER: These servants arrive early and stay late ensuring the building is unlocked and ready for services and then secure the building at the close of activites.
DÉCOR: Providing esthetically pleasing and appropriate decorations throughout the facility is the goal of this team.
ENGAGE: This Wednesday night middle school ministry combines fun with teaching from God’s word. Grades 6-8.
EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNICATION: This team is charged with analyzing, improving, and proofreading all written and visual communication that go out from GBC.
GREETERS: This ministry helps people who visit the church by assisting people at the door, helping them find the Welcome Center, etc.
GROUNDS KEEPING: Cutting the grass, trimming shrubs, and parking lot maintenance are just a few examples of the tasks of these workers.
MISSIONS: This group educates the GBC family on foreign mission work, supports missionaries, and works to send new workers into the field. They also set up and staff Vision teams.
MEDIA: This ministry coordinates & produces tapes, CDs, and mp3s for purchase and our website.
NURSERY CARE: This ministry cares for the infants and toddlers of our church while parents attend classes or services.
ORCHESTRA: These musicians take part in special events as well as assist in regular worship services.
PRAISE BANDS: Consisting of vocals, guitars, keyboards, and drums, these groups lead worship at the 10 & 11:30 AM services.
PRAISE CHOIRS: These groups have opportunities for singers to use their talent in the 8:30 worship services and special events.
PRAISE KIDS: The musical group consisting of third –sixth graders that practice between Sunday services to sing on Sundays and during special events.
PRAYER: The team that prays for and follows up on every specific prayer request that comes through our offices. They coordinate all church prayer chains and prayer events.
PRISONS MINISTRY: This ministry team visits local prisons, encouraging and witnessing to prisoners. Prison Fellowship's Angel Tree program occurs during the Christmas season.
SPECIAL MUSIC: These auditioned musicians bring vocal and instrumental offerings on Sunday mornings and at special events.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: For children ages 2 – high school. Biblical concepts and truths are taught at age appropriate levels during both Sunday services.
TEENS: This Wednesday night ministry combines fun with teaching from God’s word. Grades 9-12.
TEEN CHOIR: This group practices between services on Sunday and performs several times each year. Grades 9 – 12.
TEEN PRAISE BAND: This all-teen ensemble leads worship each Sunday in the gym for their peers and Sunday School leaders.
THANKSGIVING BASKETS: Collecting food, assembling baskets, and distributing them is the goal of the seasonal effort.
USHERS: The welcoming team that assists people into the worship service by handing out bulletins, seating folks, and overseeing the service in general, and assisting people where needed.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: This week-long summer program seeks to reach children who have never met the Savior & to encourage young believers. Grades 1–6.
VIDEO: This team is responsible for recording and broadcasting the Sunday service and special events each week. They also produce a weekly tape for the Media Library.
VISION TEAMS: Short-term mission teams that participate in projects around the world that are designed to introduce various aspects of foreign missions and missionaries to team members. These trips vary in length from 1 to 3 weeks.
VISUAL MEDIA: This group creates and/or is responsible for the projection of media during services and special events.
WELCOME CENTER: Staff at this area greet, give information and directions, and get to know visitors.
